Intro to Robotics and Mechatronics

The Project:

Use your color sensor to autonomously navigate a maze by following a specific color line.

Designing the Robot:

Physical Design:

We based our robot off of the Mystery Box in Mario. We used OnShape to design the box along with the holes for the motor and color sensors. We used two DC motors for the back wheels to drive and steer the robot. We used a wooden dowel attached to two wheels to help keep the box stable and level.

We originally had extremely large back wheels (seen in the photo below) but as we tested we opted for smaller wheels so the robot doesn’t move as fast so it can sense the line better.
